Teaching Assistant - Secondary and SEN - Full-time or part-time, flexible hours

Job Description: We are seeking a versatile Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students in a specialist Special Educational Needs (SEN) provisions. 

The successful candidate will have a diverse skill set and be capable of providing support across a range of subjects and needs, including but not limited to academic support, behavioral support, and life skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including SEN, in mainstream secondary schools and SEN settings.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support students with academic tasks, including literacy, numeracy, and subject-specific learning.
  • Provide behavioral support and implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to adapt support strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Understanding of SEN and experience supporting students with autism, learning difficulties, and behavioral challenges.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo this process).
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN support, or a related field (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
