Teaching Assistant required for a dynamic school who are committed to providing comprehensive support and guidance to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They pride themselves on fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every individual is empowered to achieve their full potential. They believe in the importance of personalised education and holistic development, equipping students with the skills and confidence to succeed academically and thrive in all aspects of life.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a passionate team. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students, helping them to succeed academically and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions to support student progress.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to ongoing assessments and reviews.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people facing challenges.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of our students and school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
