Phonics TA

Full time or part time position

Phonics intervention role

September start

 

Teaching Personnel have been approached by a high volume of schools in Tameside in order to source experienced teaching assistants to deliver planned intervention/booster sessions in September. The schools have commented that the children within EYFS, KS1 and KS2 were benefiting from specialist Intervention Support that has been put in place during the last academic year. The Head Teachers are concerned with the gaps in learning they will be faced with in September due to the school closures.

Specifically, a primary school within Ashton-under-Lyne are hoping to source a teaching assistant to work within EYFS and KS1. The successful candidate will be required to provide 1:1 and small group Phonics booster session for EYFS and Key Stage 1 pupils in preparation for the Phonics screening.

The position is to start in September and will run until Easter 2021. The school have said they are flexible and would be able to provide the intervention position on a full time or part basis. The school are looking for an individual who is comfortable across EYFS and KS1.

 

Requirements for the role:

- CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

- Experience using Letters and Sounds, Jolly Phonics or Read Write Inc. Phonics schemes

- Experience supporting children within EYFS and Key Stage 1

The role is to start on Monday 14th September 2020, until Easter 2021 on either a full or part time basis. The successful candidate will interview with Head Teacher, most likely over a video conference call. Rates of pay are competitive starting at GBP10 per hour paid into your bank account on a weekly basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
