Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting passionate and dedicated SEN Specialist Teaching Assistants to work across a range of schools throughout South Yorkshire.

We work closely with mainstream schools, specialist provisions and alternative settings across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster, providing flexible opportunities for experienced support staff.

The Role

As an SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their potential.

You may be supporting pupils with a range of needs, including:

  • Autism / ASC
  • ADHD
  • SEMH
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • Complex and additional learning needs
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Physical and sensory needs
  • Moderate learning difficulties

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to adapt support to individual pupils
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification is desirable but not essential where relevant experience is demonstrated

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants who want greater flexibility, as well as those looking for consistent long-term placements within South Yorkshire schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
