Make a Difference Through One-to-One Tuition

TP Tutors is looking for passionate and experienced Teachers, Tutors and SEND Specialists to provide personalised one-to-one tuition to children and young people across Wellingborough and surrounding areas.

Tuition may take place in pupils’ homes, schools or alternative education settings during school hours. You will support learners who may have additional educational needs, gaps in education, require exam preparation or benefit from specialist SEND support.

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your teaching expertise to build confidence, overcome barriers and help learners achieve their educational goals.

The Role

As a Tutor, you will plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons based on each learner’s individual needs, abilities and learning style. You will help pupils develop academic skills, improve confidence and make meaningful progress.

Assignments may include supporting learners across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, Alternative Provision and SEND settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging one-to-one tuition tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Plan high-quality, differentiated lessons.
  • Assess learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to different abilities and learning styles.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, schools and professionals.
  • Support learners to improve attainment, confidence and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills or SEND education.
  • Strong lesson planning, assessment, communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Reliable ability to travel across Wellingborough and surrounding areas.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • QTS, PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.

Desirable Experience

Experience supporting learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia, SLCN, EHCPs, SEND, Alternative Provision or home tuition is highly desirable.

Location

The role covers Wellingborough and surrounding areas. Tutors must be able to travel reliably to pupils’ homes, schools and alternative education settings during school hours, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
