Job description

Job Title: KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Accrington

Contract Type: Full-time

Salary: £12.90 - £15 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to KS2 pupils with SEN, both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities to meet the individual needs of SEN pupils.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other members of the school staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Monitor and track the progress of SEN pupils, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a KS2 setting or providing one-to-one support to SEN pupils.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEN and a commitment to their holistic development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges and promoting inclusivity.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
