Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Abertillery

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30

Pay: Minimum £11.85ph

Start: March 2024

Teaching personnel are currently looking for a dedicated individual for on of our schools in Abertillery. Our school is looking for a teaching assistant to help support pupils within the classroom, this individual will need to have strong team working skills and have a passion for supporting the learning, growth and development of all pupils. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to effectively assist in the day to day running of the classroom, ensuring that all children are cared for. This role could sit with any age group within the primary school.

Key Requirements for a Successful Teaching Assistant:

• To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
• Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System.
• Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months.
• Taking a proactive approach to supporting pupils.

Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

• Work as a general teaching assistant within the classroom, supporting learning and development.
• Understand and engage with the pupils in every task, ensuring that they stay focused and learn.
• Foster a positive and encouraging environment.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, offering social and emotional support when required.
• Adhere to the school's safeguarding and protection policies.
• Work effectively with fellow teachers and teaching assistants in a strong team-oriented approach, seeking advice and guidance when required.
• Adapt to various situations as they arise, demonstrating flexibility in response to evolving needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
