SEN Teaching Assistant

If so, then this job opportunity for a SEN(D) Teaching Assistant may be your perfect role!

A purpose-built specialist school for children and young people with a variety of Special Educational Needs are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team!

 

The Role:

You will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers in providing the best support possible to students ranging in the ages 2 to 19 years old with learning difficulties including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Physical and Sensory disabilities
  • Healthcare needs
  • Substantial developmental delay
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Sensory impairments
  • General challenging behaviour

This is a purpose-built school with a vision to provide a bespoke education tailored to each pupil, delivered in a creative and nurturing environment, inspiring all who work and learn with them to develop their full potential.

The school’s aim is for all children and young people to flourish and to lead as full, interesting and independent lives as possible, leaving education with a strong sense of who they are and where they belong in the world!

 

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A patient, resilient, innovative and caring individual with a compassionate approach to supporting children
  • SEND experience in or out of an educational setting
  • Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
