Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a SEND school in Stockton on Tees who are seeking a teaching assistant on a full time basis, to commence from the May half term working with students with Autism.
The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils aged 11-16 who have Autism of a severe nature, as well as some sensory impairments. The main aspect of the role will be helping the children to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time. You will be expected to monitor children's academic and personal progress within lessons, and you will have regular meetings with the class teacher to discuss this.
Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with Autism; however the client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, counselling and graduates. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and have a strong desire to work with SEND.
Registering with Teaching Personnel will also provide you with access to unique CPD opportunities to increase your qualifications and knowledge of the field, so this position is ideal for those wishing to broaden their work experience. We have an upcoming Team Teach training course which will highly benefit you in this role. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.
Teaching Personnel can offer teaching assistant's competitive pay rates of up to £65 per day, 5 days per week. Teaching Personnel work with a large number of SEN schools across the UK, if you are interested in registering to work through Teaching Personnel, to gain full time or part time work or to gain SEN experience please call us today for a confidential chat to hear more.
