Teaching Assistants & Cover Supervisors – Support Pupils Across Norwich & Norfolk

Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning and development? Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant or a confident Cover Supervisor, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re working with welcoming primary schools across Norwich and the wider Norfolk area that prioritise inclusivity, nurture, and the wellbeing of every pupil. Many of our schools support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, so your role will be vital in helping pupils feel understood, supported, and ready to learn.

Please note: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as you’ll be travelling between school sites across Norwich and Norfolk.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
  • Supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Providing targeted support to pupils, including those with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to boost confidence and wellbeing.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to meet individual needs.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

  • Experienced or interested in supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient in their approach to behaviour and support.
  • Proactive and able to use their initiative in the classroom.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Strong communicators who can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
