Teaching Assistant | Additional Learning Needs | Cardiff

As Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist school in Cardiff who are looking to appoint an experienced PMLD Teaching assistant to join their successful and friendly team.

The school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with complex physical and sensory impairments. It will be your role to support pupils to access a highly bespoke and tailored curriculum. You must have experience of supporting children, young people or adults with physical disabilities and/or additional needs. You will be comfortable providing personal care and ideally will possess a Moving and Handling certificate (although this training can be provided).

It is beneficial that you have knowledge and understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and the ability to differentiate and adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs. You will have a holistic and person centred approach and the flexibility to address and respond to social, emotional and personal needs. Worried you haven't had the relevant experience? This isn't the be all and end all - we take into account your interest into SEN and your personality. More often than not your personality will show us if this is the right avenue for you.
