Looking for a Different Kind of Teaching Role?
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist SEN/SEMH provision in Stoke-on-Trent that is seeking a passionate, resilient, and committed teacher to join their team from September 2026.
This role would suit either a Primary or Secondary trained teacher who is looking for a rewarding challenge and wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with additional needs.
The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and other barriers to learning. With small class sizes, dedicated support staff, and a strong focus on relationships, the school provides a nurturing environment where every pupil can achieve.
The role will initially begin on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position following a successful transition period.
The Role
- Deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced challenges in mainstream education.
- Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and senior leaders.
- Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Recognise and celebrate progress both inside and outside the classroom.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching in Primary, Secondary, SEN, SEMH, PRU, Alternative Provision, or similar settings.
- Is confident managing behaviour and building strong relationships.
- Is adaptable, patient, and committed to helping pupils succeed.
- Wants to be part of a supportive and collaborative team.
- Is open to taking on a role with potential for future development and progression.

To Be Eligible For This Role Through Teaching Personnel, You Must:
- Hold the right to work in the UK.
- Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
- Provide two professional references covering the last two years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
