Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well-established specialist education provider in Stoke-on-Trent to recruit a committed and passionate SEN Teacher.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, communication difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, and associated learning challenges.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging, personalised learning programmes that help pupils develop both academically and personally in a supportive and nurturing environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs to achieve positive educational outcomes.
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Contribute to EHCP targets and wider pastoral support strategies.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- A strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice.
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships and inspire confidence in learners.
- A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach.
- Experience within specialist, alternative provision, or SEND settings is desirable but not essential.
