Teacher of Physical Education (PE) – Part-Time Maternity Cover – February 2026 Start

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Physical Education ready to inspire the next generation of young athletes?
Teaching Personnel are working with a vibrant and high-achieving secondary school in Hampshire who are seeking a dynamic PE Teacher to join their department on a part-time, fixed-term contract from February half term 2026 to cover maternity leave (up to 12 months).

Applications are welcome from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced educators. Comprehensive induction and professional development support will be provided.

Role Overview:

  • Part-time (approximately 3 days per week), starting February 2026
  • Fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave (up to 12 months)
  • Teach PE across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to deliver a second subject
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that promote physical wellbeing and achievement
  • Contribute to the school’s extracurricular sports programme and wider community initiatives

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
  • A commitment to inspiring students of all abilities through active and engaging lessons
  • The ability to build positive relationships with learners and colleagues
  • A passion for extracurricular involvement — especially netball or girls’ football experience would be advantageous
  • A flexible and collaborative approach to teaching and departmental development
