Teacher of Mathematics - Farnborough - September

The school which is based in the town of Farnborough, an area going through significant developments in Hampshire is looking to appoint a teacher of Mathematics to join them in September on a full time, permanent basis. The school are looking to enhance their mathematics provision across their secondary phase and in order to achieve this, they need an ambitious teacher who is passionate about teaching, learning, and mathematics.

The KS3 curriculum is delivered with a great emphasis on providing a range of active and offsite teaching and learning strategies to encourage their students to become independent learners. Their approach is a creative one and has seen impressive progress made by all of their learners as a result. They are one of very few schools to be awarded 'centre of excellence' status.

At GCSE the school currently delivers the AQA curriculum. The subject is a popular one at the school and last summer the department achieved a positive progress score. They have a higher number of students than most other local schools opting to take the subject at A Level.

The school are interested in NQTs, recently qualified teachers and more experienced teachers who are:

  • Ambitious in their career; the school are looking for teachers who can take on additional responsibilities in the near future
  • Able to demonstrate an excellent track record of teaching and learning in their subject
  • Expert in the field of mathematics
  • An enthusiastic individual with a good sense of humour; this is something particularly important to the department who are a close knit group
  • An effective communicator and sensitive to the needs of their pupils
  • Passionate about their professional development and support colleagues with theirs.

Applicants must have UK QTS or be an OTT with suitable experience. The School may consider UQTs, however they must be well qualified in Mathematics with prior teaching experience.
