Teacher of Mandarin for Easter or September 2019

The school, based in the navel town Gosport, an area of Hampshire is looking for a Teacher (QTS) or experienced Unqualified Teacher of Mandarin to join them from Easter on either a full or part time basis. You will be joining the Languages department at an exciting time being a key member of the delivery of Mandarin across both KS3 and KS4. The school are looking for something who is passionate about the Language and able to instil a love for it through quality teaching and an creating an enjoyable learning environment.

At the school, Mandarin is currently be offered as an Enrichment Activity for sixth form students who may benefit from learning the language to support a UCAS application or future job aspirations.

The Languages department is a well resourced and popular area of the school. Work is well documented and you will have access to a range of textbooks, booklets, worksheets, DVDs and interactive activities for you to utilise. The department often share resources and best practice to ensure the best possible provision of languages to their students.

Ideal Candidate qualities:

  • Experience in delivering Mandarin to ages 11-18
  • The ability to teach another Language or subject would be desirable
  • Able to deliver stimulating lessons that promote engagement and a love for the language
  • Are proactive in your own CPD, particularly if you do not hold QTS
  • Have sound knowledge of safeguarding
  • A team player with a good sense of humour
