Teacher of ICT- Wigan

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of ICT to join our partner secondary school in Wigan on a full time basis from September 2018. The school are seeking a Teacher of ICT who has a proven track record of achieving high results and welcome application from both NQTs and experienced Teachers of ICT:

  • Teacher of ICT to Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Required to start from September 2018
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)
  • Outstanding ICT facilities
  • Excellent location easily accessible from the North West areas

The successful candidate will be required to have experience of teaching ICT to KS3 and KS4. Further they must have an understanding of new curriculum developments for teaching ICT. The school recently moved into a new state of the art premises which boast excellent ICT facilities. There are two ICT suites and both are equipped with Apple Mac PCs.

ICT/Computing is a popular subject at the school. Pupils behave well within lessons and are with motivated by innovative and engaging lessons. The ICT department strive to deliver a high standard of teaching which is relevant to the modern world.

Our partner school is part of a reputable Academy trust. All of the schools within the trust have a high performance culture and offer excellent career progression opportunities. It currently caters for just over 960 pupils of which the vast majority are from White British backgrounds.

It is located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre quite close to the Orrell and Up Holland areas. This makes it easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Golborne and Tyldesley via the M6 motorway. There are also direct transport links from Wigan town centre.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
