Full-Time | Long-Term and Permanent Opportunities | KS3 and KS4

Help Students Find Their Voice

Teaching Personnel is seeking a creative and committed Teacher of English to work with secondary schools across Farnborough.

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students through powerful stories, challenging ideas and purposeful communication.

Schools in the area provide broad English curricula featuring classic and modern fiction, Shakespeare, poetry, non-fiction, speeches and creative writing. The focus is on helping students become literate, confident communicators and critical thinkers who can analyse writers’ choices and express their own ideas with clarity.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning imaginative and challenging lessons
  • Developing students’ analytical and creative-writing skills
  • Improving literacy, vocabulary and spoken communication
  • Preparing classes for GCSE assessments and examinations
  • Tracking progress and addressing gaps in knowledge
  • Supporting SEND and mixed-ability learners
  • Maintaining positive behaviour and high expectations
  • Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has strong English subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Can make complex texts accessible and engaging
  • Builds confidence in reluctant readers and writers
  • Uses assessment effectively
  • Creates an inclusive and ambitious classroom
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
