Teaching Personnel is recruiting an engaging and adaptable Teacher of English for secondary schools across Alton.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver inspiring English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach a rich range of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and drama
  • Develop confident readers, writers and speakers
  • Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature
  • Plan, mark and assess in line with department expectations
  • Provide meaningful feedback that supports progress
  • Adapt teaching for different starting points and learning needs
  • Establish a positive and purposeful classroom
  • Contribute to literacy, enrichment and wider school life

What We Are Looking For

You will:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Be confident teaching English across KS3 and KS4
  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Communicate subject knowledge clearly and enthusiastically
  • Maintain high expectations for every learner
  • Be collaborative, reflective and committed to safeguarding

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
