English Teacher – Basingstoke
Start ASAP | Full-Time | Permanent
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an ambitious and supportive secondary school in Basingstoke, Hampshire, to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to start as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate English specialist to join a school that places high importance on strong relationships, inclusion, and high expectations. The Role
As an English Teacher, you will:
- Deliver pre‑planned English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Create a calm, focused, and engaging learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with clear school policies
- Support students with additional needs, including SEN, where required
- Assess progress and provide constructive feedback to raise attainment
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams to support student development
The Ideal Candidate

- Have experience working with secondary‑aged students
- Are confident, adaptable, and proactive in the classroom
- Have SEN experience or a willingness to support additional needs
- Communicate clearly and build strong, positive relationships with students
- Demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for English and young people’s learning
- Are committed to raising standards and fostering a love of reading and writing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
