Inspire the Next Generation Through Language and Literature

Are you an enthusiastic English Teacher who can bring texts to life, develop confident communicators and help students discover the power of their own voice?

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a passionate Teacher of English to support secondary schools across Basingstoke.

Schools in the area offer broad and engaging English curricula that expose students to classic and contemporary literature, diverse cultures, poetry, drama, non-fiction and creative writing. Students are encouraged to read independently, think critically and communicate confidently through both spoken and written language.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach English Language and English Literature
  • Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills
  • Introduce learners to a diverse range of texts and perspectives
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations
  • Use assessment and feedback to support progress
  • Adapt teaching for different abilities and additional needs
  • Create a calm, inclusive and purposeful classroom
  • Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment

Who We Are Looking For

You will ideally:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Have strong knowledge of the secondary English curriculum
  • Be passionate about literature, language and literacy
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management
  • Set high expectations for progress and achievement
  • Inspire students of all abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
