Teacher Key Stage 3 - Rochdale

Full time, position commencing immediately for an SEMH Teacher at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Rochdale. The setting provides education for pupils who are out of mainstream education for a variety of reasons which may include: exclusion, emotional and behavioural difficulties, medical reasons, pregnancy and young mothers.

The main aim of the setting is to provide pupils with the appropriate support and intervention to integrate them back into mainstream wherever possible. The role will involve supporting the holistic development of pupils with SEMH and assuring that the appropriate support mechanisms are implemented so that pupils can achieve their optimal potential. Due to the specific needs of the pupils the teacher should be experienced in dealing with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour.

The ideal teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Extensive experience of working with pupils with SEMH
• Team-Teach training (can be provided)
• Experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
