Are you a fully qualified science teacher based in Harrow?

Do you have experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour?

The pupil referral unit covers two sites and a home education service. They provide education for pupils who are not able to attend their mainstream school. Those attending the main site have either been permanently excluded or are placed at the service to avoid permanent exclusion. The home education service makes provision for pupils who have illnesses which prevent them attending school. They also oversee the running of the Hospital School. However, most of these pupils remain on the roll of their mainstream school. Many of the Year 11 pupils at the main site make appropriate use of alternative provision to prepare them for the next stage in their education.

The Benefits:

An extra three days of leave are also awarded in the "anniversary years" of service from ten years onwards (eg 10, 15, 20 years), taking holiday entitlement to 38 days for that year. The entitlements are pro rata for part time and term time staff.

The Role:

  • Teaching classes of up to 5 pupils in KS3 Science
  • planning and marking required
  • Hours: 8:30 to 4:30
  • £150 a day starting salary

The Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Bachelors Degree in Science (Biology, Physics or Chemistry)
  • 2 Excellent references
