If so, Teaching Personnel have the ideal role for you!

Teaching Personnel are working with a client school in central Scarborough, that provides education for students excluded and unable to attend a mainstream school. The school also provides tuition offsite and can take place in Filey, Scarborough or surrounding areas. The tuition usually takes place on a 2:1 basis, with a teacher and teaching assistant to support the session. Sessions take place from either 9am-12pm, or 9am-2pm each day and is with the view of re-integrating the pupil back into an educational placement. As the designated tutor, you will be expected to plan and devise the lesson plans for the individual student's needs. Subjects covered should be to include basic Maths and English, as well as other core subjects such as Science. Although students are of Key Stage 3 & 4 age, they are usually still at Year 6, 7 or 8 working abilities, so lesson plans should take this into consideration.

As the ideal canididate, you should hold the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Hold QTS, GTP, Cert ED or Overseas Comparable teaching qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience with Key Stage 3+ students
  • A minimum of 1 years experience working with students with SEN or Behavioural difficulties
  • Be able to provide a 6 year career history, with full referencing details
  • Hold, or be willing to apply for an Enhanced Child Only DBS that is registered to the Update Service
  • Have the needs of the student at the forefront of your lesson plans, taking into consideration any learning or behavioural difficulties
  • Be enthusiastic and outgoing
