Teacher Assistant 1-1 for SEN school

TA with SEN experience to work in ‘Outstanding’ Hull school

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting TAs with SEN experience to work with an alternative provision in Hull that caters for a growing cohort of SEN students. The school caters for children with challenging behaviour, SEMH conditions and an expanding variety of SEN learners, moved from mainstream schools.

The role

  • You will be working with small groups of secondary aged SEN students who will require support while in class and around the school.
  • The role will also involve of helping the children to foster healthy relationships with staff and students to improve social skills.
  • An empathetic, patient and positive nature to SEN students is essential, plus flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.

About you as the ideal candidate

  • The best candidates will be able have previous experience of working with SEN students, preferably 1-1.
  • You could also have some additional skills that would stand you in good stead, such as Team Teach or Makaton.
  • You might also have experience working with SEMH pupils outside a traditional educational setting and this could be of interest.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.This will be a temporary position and may go permanent at a later date.
