Talent Pool: Pastoral/DSL/DDSL Roles Available

Are you a passionate safeguarding professional committed to ensuring children and young people are safe, supported and able to thrive?
We are building a Safeguarding Talent Pool for experienced and aspiring professionals to join our network of schools in Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), and Pastoral Leadership roles.
This is an exciting opportunity to register your interest for upcoming vacancies across primary, secondary and specialist settings.
About the Roles
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
You will take strategic and operational leadership for safeguarding and child protection across the school. You will:

Lead safeguarding policy, practice and culture.

Manage referrals to external agencies.
-
Support staff with safeguarding concerns and case management.
-
Deliver training and ensure compliance with statutory guidance (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education).

Work closely with senior leaders, governors and external partners.
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
You will support the DSL in all safeguarding duties and deputise where required. You will:

Manage safeguarding cases.
-
Contribute to safeguarding audits and compliance.

Support staff with safeguarding processes.
-
Promote a vigilant safeguarding culture across the school.
Pastoral Leaders / Heads of Year / Wellbeing Leads
You will play a key role in promoting student welfare, behaviour, attendance and wellbeing. You will:

Provide early help and targeted pastoral support.

Work with families and external agencies.
-
Support behaviour and attendance strategies.
-
Champion inclusion and student voice.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who:

Have experience in safeguarding and child protection within an educational setting.

Hold (or are willing to complete) DSL-level safeguarding training.

Have strong knowledge of statutory safeguarding frameworks.

Demonstrate excellent record-keeping and case management skills.
-
Build positive, professional relationships with students, families and agencies.
-
Are resilient, emotionally intelligent and solution-focused.
-
Are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding practice.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., teaching qualification, social work, counselling, youth work, education welfare or equivalent experience) are desirable depending on the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
