Teaching Personnel are looking for a Support Worker to work within one of our Hampshire based Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools.

The School on the outskirts of Lymington is an Ofsted-registered independent specialist school that works with both boys and girls aged 7-19 years. The young people primarily have a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome and other associated difficulties on the Autistic Spectrum.

The purpose of the school is to prepare students for the demands of adult life through staff expertise and specialist approaches. This included providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

As a key part of the team you will have a vital role in helping the children learn and develop skills for life.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing overnight support for young people who have special educational needs
  • Personal care support
  • Working alongside other staff to provide the best possible care
  • Keeping children safe overnight

You will have a choice between having a 2 week rolling rota that gives you 5 days off on one of the weeks, so in a 14 day period you will only work 7 days OR working a 40 hour week with shifts between 7am and 10.30pm.

Hours are 8-8 on nights. (Nights are 4 on 4 off)

You will never need to work a mix of days and nights.

No experience is necessary. Full training is provided, this is a great opportunity to gain experience in a childcare setting and progress your career. You can work towards a Level 3 RCF Child and Young Person's workforce qualification for FREE.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
