Support Worker -Integration Support - SEND Key Stage 2/3 Pupils

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEND provision in Sunderland who are seeking a mentor, to work with students moving from Key Stage 2 to 3 on a full time commencing in the new academic year.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who is expected to struggle with the move from Primary to Secondary education. The main aspect of the role will be helping the student to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development. You will be expected to monitor children's personal progress within lessons, and you will have regular meetings with the class teacher to discuss this and to provide support for yourself within the role. The student is in looked after care and is likely to display challenging behaviour.

The client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, counselling and graduates. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and have a strong desire to work with and improve the lives of young people.

Teaching Personnel can offer integration mentors competitive rates of pay of up to ÂŁ5 per day. This role will continue until the pupil no longer needs support, however there are extensive further work opportunities through Teaching Personnel at the end of this contract. Registering with Teaching Personnel will also provide you with access to unique CPD opportunities to increase your qualifications and knowledge of the field. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.
