A specialist alternative provisional school located in Winchester is looking for a new SEN Teaching Assistant with previous experience working with severe learning difficulties to provide excellent support to secondary-aged pupils in the classroom. The school is a special educational needs school that works with pupils with a mixture of complex learning difficulties.

This role is an academic support role, which is looking for assistance for working with small groups of pupils in small classrooms to help with their bespoke curriculum, tailored for every student’s success and achievement. We would be looking for candidates that can provide academic support in both their English and Numeracy skills and general behavioural management skills in monitoring the classroom. The school is versed with a variety of pupils, ranging from both verbal and non-verbal students, where extra care and support is needed.

As this role is working with special education needs, candidates will need to have a strong personality, who is willing to hit the ground running and step up for the benefit of the children. This position is suitable for candidates who can provide long-term and full-time support, as you will be responsible for developing strong relationships with the pupils and giving a motivating and supportive personality.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
