The Role

As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver high‑quality teaching to pupils aged 11–16 during planned and unplanned teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining high standards across the classroom.

You will confidently deliver pre‑planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, and create a positive, purposeful learning environment. There may also be opportunities to provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support, including working with students with special educational needs, helping them engage and thrive.

This role offers the chance to teach across a range of subjects, making it ideal for adaptable professionals who enjoy varied teaching experiences.

This is a community‑focused 11–16 secondary school offering:

  • Good Ofsted‑rated education across all categories
  • Broad subject offer, including academic and vocational pathways
  • Strong pastoral and SEND support
  • Inclusive ethos and increasing demand from local families

It remains a key secondary option for families in Portsmouth, with a continued focus on raising aspirations and providing a supportive, structured education environment.

The school also benefits from excellent facilities, including:

  • Modern classrooms and specialist subject areas
  • Refurbished learning spaces following academy conversion
  • Dedicated pastoral and SEND support zones
  • Access to United Learning’s digital learning platforms

Who We Are Looking For

  • A fully qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience teaching secondary‑aged students
  • Confident and adaptable, able to manage classrooms effectively and deliver engaging lessons
  • A strong communicator who builds positive, professional relationships with students
  • Passionate about motivating and supporting young people’s development
  • Flexible and proactive, comfortable teaching a variety of subjects as required

Working Hours / Benefits

  • Competitive daily rate
  • Holiday pay included
  • Full‑time and part‑time opportunities available, Monday–Friday, tailored to your availability
  • Term‑time only – ideal for work‑life balance
  • Access to a wide range of CPD and online training courses
  • Ongoing professional support and guidance from Teaching Personnel’s experienced consultants

If you are a qualified teacher looking to work in an Ofsted‑rated “Good” school with modern facilities, a dedicated pastoral team, and a strong enrichment culture, we would love to hear from you. Apply with your CV today!
