Supply Teacher – General Cover (Ad Hoc)
Contract: Flexible, Ad Hoc Supply Work
Location: Portsmouth
Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

Teaching Personnel are supporting a well-established secondary school in Portsmouth who are seeking ad hoc General Cover Supply Teachers to join their cover pool. This co-educational school, catering for students aged 11 to 16, is renowned for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral care, and commitment to helping every student achieve their best.

In its latest Ofsted inspection in 2024, the school was graded ‘Good’ in all areas. Inspectors praised the school for being a “happy, kind and respectful” environment with high expectations and a positive culture.

We are looking for reliable, adaptable, and confident practitioners who are available for day-to-day and short-term general cover. This role is ideal for those who enjoy variety, wish to broaden their classroom experience across multiple subjects, or prefer the flexibility of supply teaching.

The role:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Ensuring a calm, purposeful, and engaging learning environment
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, OR strong relevant education experience
  • Confidence delivering lessons outside your specialist subject
  • A flexible, proactive approach to daily supply
  • Strong behaviour management skills are highly advantageous
