Job Title: Supply Teaching Assistant – Newport
Location: Newport, South Wales
Salary: £166.32 - £180 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Flexible Supply
Start Date: September 2025

Teaching Personnel is looking for skilled and motivated Supply Teaching Assistants to support a variety of primary schools across Newport. Whether you’re an experienced TA or new to the profession and eager to gain more classroom experience, we can offer you flexible work with excellent pay – starting from £166.32 per day.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality classroom support across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), KS1 and KS2.
  • Step into day-to-day or short-term placements to support teachers and pupils effectively.
  • Work with small groups or 1:1, including pupils with SEN, additional needs, or behaviour plans.
  • Adapt quickly to different classroom environments while following school policies.

We’d Love to Hear from You if You Have:

  • Previous experience in a school, nursery, or care setting.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A valid child-only Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • Flexibility to travel to schools across Newport and surrounding areas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
