The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring learning continues effectively and students remain engaged.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Maintaining a calm, positive, and productive learning environment
  • Encouraging student engagement and participation
  • Supporting students to complete lesson objectives
  • Providing additional support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where required
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop classroom management skills and gain meaningful school-based experience.

Built on the values of respect and aspiration, the school encourages students to be ambitious, resilient, and inclusive. Students benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum designed to develop academic achievement alongside essential life skills, independence, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

The school also places significant emphasis on diversity, inclusion, student leadership, and personal development, creating an environment where young people feel supported, challenged, and valued.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with secondary-aged students
  • Are confident and adaptable in a classroom setting
  • Can support students with SEN and additional learning needs
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Are enthusiastic about supporting young people
  • Can remain calm, professional, and organised in a busy school environment
