Job Title: Supply Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary Schools (S35 & S6)
Location: Sheffield – S35 & S6 Postcodes
Contract Type: Supply / Flexible
Working Hours: Typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
Start Date: September
Daily Rate: £95 – £115 (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Are you an experienced HLTA looking for flexible, rewarding work across supportive and vibrant primary schools? We are seeking confident and capable Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our supply team in the S35 and S6 areas of Sheffield.
The Role:
As a supply HLTA, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning, often stepping in to lead whole-class sessions in the teacher's absence. You'll have the opportunity to work across year groups, gain experience in a variety of school settings, and make a real difference to children’s education.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

Support and lead small group interventions or whole-class activities.
-
Work collaboratively with class teachers and senior leadership.

Provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs.

Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
-
HLTA status or equivalent qualification (essential).
-
Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
-
Confident in delivering lessons across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2.
-
Strong classroom management skills and a flexible approach.
-
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
