Primary ECT Opportunity – North Sheffield

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Primary Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to work in welcoming and supportive primary schools across North Sheffield from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for newly qualified teachers looking to gain valuable classroom experience across all primary key stages, including EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, while building confidence and developing their teaching career in a range of school settings.

We are looking for passionate and adaptable educators who are committed to creating engaging learning environments and making a positive impact on pupils’ education.

The Role

As a Primary ECT, responsibilities may include:

• Delivering engaging lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in line with the national curriculum
• Creating positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environments
• Supporting pupils’ academic, emotional, and social development
• Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of different learners
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting positive engagement
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, senior leaders, and wider school staff
• Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to assessment where required

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must be an Early Career Teacher (ECT) working towards or recently awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Successful candidates will ideally have:

• Experience gained through teaching placements within primary settings
• A willingness to work across all primary key stages (EYFS, KS1, and KS2)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A flexible, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to teaching
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
