Are you energetic, sporty, and passionate about supporting young learners? We're looking for a dynamic Teaching Assistant with a background in sports or coaching to join a vibrant primary school in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity to channel your coaching skills into the classroom — while still leading lunchtime and after-school activities!

The Role:

  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including behavioural and emotional challenges.

  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, especially during PE and active learning sessions.

  • Lead or support physical activities at break times, lunchtimes, and in after-school clubs.

  • Create a fun, safe, and structured environment where all pupils feel valued and included.

  • Be a positive role model, helping pupils build confidence, teamwork, and resilience through sport and activity.

About the School:

This welcoming and inclusive Cardiff primary school values creativity, movement, and whole-child development. The staff team is supportive, energetic, and committed to nurturing every child’s potential. Many pupils respond especially well to physical activity and outdoor learning — making this the perfect opportunity for a sporty TA to shine. The school has previously trained and retained sports coaches, investing in their long-term development.

✅ Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in sports, coaching, youth work, or similar active settings.

  • Experience working with children or young people (schools, clubs, or community settings).

  • Confident, calm, and approachable, with strong behaviour management and communication skills.

  • Passionate about education and helping young people thrive through movement and structure.

  • Team player with a proactive and supportive attitude.
