We are currently looking for a sports graduate to fill a vacant Teaching Assistant position in an East Cardiff Secondary School.

Do you have Sports coaching experience?

Have you recently graduated with a sports degree?

Would you like to secure full time work for the new year?

Are you considering applying for your PE PGCE in 2021?

Here at Teaching Personnel we work in Partnership with Schools all across South Wales and we are currently looking to support one of our large Cardiff schools looking for confident and proactive sports coaches that are able to motivate and engage with children of all abilities within the Secondary school.

Utilising your Sporting background, your role as a teaching assistant allows you to become a role model for children of all ages across the school. If you have years of coaching experience or have undertaken your sports degree and are looking to continue working within education then this could be a great step in your career. As a support function to the teaching staff your role may vary as the pupil’s needs may all differ.  Being an adaptable individual it is paramount that you can understand behaviour management and also have the ability to build relationships and rapport with the pupils that you work with.

Your role:

Utilise your Coaching skills in a classroom setting

Support Teacher within the classroom

Possibilities of running your own School Sports Teams

Keep pupils engaged and motivated

Working in small groups and 1 to 1

In the past we have found that Sports Coaches/graduates have worked really well in the role of Teaching Assistant.  Coaches will often have the transferable skills that will give you a great advantage in a classroom setting. If you feel you can use your sporting background to mentor the pupils that you work with, this role may be of interest to you.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
