An exciting opportunity awaits you at our Primary School as we seek a dynamic and dedicated Sports Graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant starting this September (2024).

Primary School in Nelson (BB9)

Full-time role 

Start date: September 5th 2024

Pay rate: £12.90 - £13.55 per hour

The Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our students' well-being and academic progress by incorporating sports and physical activities into their daily routines. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to develop and implement engaging sports programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Leading sports sessions that promote teamwork, resilience, and positive social interaction among students.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who may require additional assistance or encouragement to participate in sports activities.
  • Assisting with the supervision and management of students during sports sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment at all times.
  • Utilizing your expertise in sports to inspire and motivate students, helping them develop confidence, self-esteem, and a lifelong love for physical activity.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Sports Science, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
  • Passion for working with young people and a genuine desire to make a difference in their lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Experience working or volunteering in a school or youth-related setting is advantageous but not essential.
