This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a Sunderland secondary school, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges in a structured and encouraging environment.

Sports Student or Graduate – Cover Supervisor / Learning Support

Location: Sunderland
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Temporary, Flexible

About the Role:

• Deliver structured lessons or small group activities.
• Apply positive behaviour management strategies to encourage participation and confidence
• Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support pupils' progress
• Build strong, consistent relationships with students to create a safe and supportive atmosphere

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Is studying or has graduated in Sports Science, PE, Coaching, Psychology, or a related subject
• Is confident leading physical activity or coaching young people
• Understands or is keen to learn about SEMH needs and inclusive education
• Communicates clearly and works well under pressure
• Is reliable, calm, and able to build rapport with young people

Bonus If You Have:

• Training such as Team Teach, Thrive, or First Aid (or a willingness to train – we’ll help!)
• Experience in coaching, youth work, or SEND settings
