‍♂️ Sports Coach Wanted – Full-Time SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant Role!
Location: Salford |  Hours: Full-time (Monday–Friday, school hours)
Settings: Secondary SEN & SEMH Provisions | Agency: Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel is looking for an energetic and active Sports Coach to join either a Secondary SEN or SEMH Provision in Salford as a full-time Teaching Assistant.

If you love being active and want to make a real difference supporting young people with additional needs or social, emotional, and mental health challenges, this is an excellent opportunity to bring your coaching skills into an educational setting.


About the Role:

  • Support pupils aged 11–16 in either a specialist SEN or SEMH secondary provision

  • Lead and assist with daily physical activities, PE lessons, and structured play

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help students engage in learning and build key social and emotional skills

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and physical activity through tailored sessions

  • Work closely with experienced staff in a supportive, collaborative environment


We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has a background in sports coaching, PE, youth work, or related active roles

  • Is confident, energetic, and passionate about working with young people with additional or SEMH needs

  • Has experience with children or young people (clubs, schools, mentoring, camps)

  • Is willing to learn and adapt to the needs of SEN/SEMH pupils

  • Is available full-time (Monday to Friday, during school hours)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
