SaLT / Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

Would you like to change young lives by supporting children with special educational needs to engage with their education? Do you have experience of supporting pupils with Autism or Social Emotional Mental Health needs? 

I am currently working alongside an alternative educational provision near Castleford, Wakefield who are looking to appoint a speech and language therapist to assist in classrooms and 1-1 with students who have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). 

Working mainly at the site near Castleford, this is a varied and busy position where you will be required to support children through Speech and Language Therapy. From time to time you may be required to work at the provisions other site, also based in Wakefield. Working alongside teachers, teaching assistants and therapists in order to succeed you will be required to have excellent organisational skills, be punctual and work on your own initiative.

I am ideally seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant, however other relevant qualifications will be considered, with experience of young people with ASD or SEMH. You will be able to hold students attention and focus with excellent communication skills, promote happiness, independence and encourage positive speech and language.
