Specialist Teaching Assistants Required!

Teaching Personnel are working with a number of primary schools in the Bodmin and St Austell areas who are currently recruiting for multiple Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:1 basis to support pupils with complex needs. 

About the role:

• SEN Teaching Assistant (multiple roles available)
• Supporting pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
• Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 15:15, term time only
• Start ASAP
• Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils led by a class teacher and supported by other Teaching Assistants

The ideal candidate / desired skills and experience:

• Available to start immediately or in January 2020
• Commit to a full time long term role (5 days a week)
• PECS and/or Makaton experience
• MAPA or Team Teach would be beneficial (or equivalent positive handling training)
• SEMH/SEN experience
• Engaging personality
• The ability to build strong relationships
• Teaching assistant/ Learning Support Assistant
• Youth work / Support Work / Care Work/ Sports background
• Full clean driving licence with access to a car daily would be advantageous

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of GBP40, plus an annual subscription fee of GBP13 for the Update Service.
