Specialist Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working with a partnership primary school to recruit a Specialist Teaching Assistant who will be able to provide 1:1 and/ or small group support for pupils within Key Stage 1 to start in October 2020.

The school is based in Driffield and will provide you with the opportunity to join a supportive team that puts pupils at the heart of what they do.

As a specialist teaching assistant within this school, you will work with pupils who require additonal support, working with them to manage their behaviour as well as ensuring that they successfully achieve the desired outcomes of the day. The role will be varied; providing support on a 1:1 and small group basis; ensuring that all pupils are meeting curriculum standards.

The school require someone who has experience of providing this support and often find that previous Nursery Nurses, those with Degrees in education Studies and Previous care assistants get on well in these roles.

There is also an opportunity to provide 1:1 BSL support for a pupil within the school. This would require supporting the child throughout the day, communicating with them the requirements of each class and tasks. You would also need to be available for school assemblies to communication any important information. There is an opportunity for this to be a longer term position.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
