Specialist Teaching Assistant – ADHD & Autism Support
Location: Skelmersdale
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, ongoing with potential for permanent placement

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a well-established special school in Skelmersdale, supporting pupils with ADHD and Autism.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, resilient, and committed to supporting young people in reaching their potential within an inclusive and nurturing school environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting children with ADHD and Autism on a 1:1 and small group basis.

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans to help pupils engage and succeed.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.

  • Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide holistic support.

  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly ADHD and Autism.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to support.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

  • A genuine passion for making education accessible for all.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
