Job Vacancy: SEMH Support Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Mainstream Primary School, Preston
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 3:30 pm
Rate of Pay: £13.75 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Support Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team at a vibrant mainstream primary school in Preston.

About the Role:
As a SEMH Support TA, you will work closely with teachers and SENCO to provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs. Your role will involve helping children to develop their emotional resilience, social skills, and engagement in learning within a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting individual and small groups of pupils with SEMH challenges

  • Assisting in creating a calm, supportive atmosphere conducive to learning

  • Helping to implement behaviour management strategies

  • Liaising with teaching staff and external professionals as needed

  • Promoting positive relationships and emotional wellbeing among pupils

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs or similar

  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Commitment to helping every child achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
