Behaviour Mentor

Location: Preston
Salary: £80 - £90 (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term

Are you passionate about supporting young people with behavioural needs and helping them reach their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated behaviour mentor to join our dynamic team in an SEN/SEMH school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for pupils with behavioural and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Support students to re-engage with learning through positive behaviour strategies and relationship-building.

  • Assist teaching staff in managing classroom behaviour and creating a safe, supportive learning environment.

  • Implement personalised behaviour plans and track pupil progress.

  • Act as a positive role model, promoting resilience, self-confidence, and respect.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs (education, youth work, or residential childcare experience considered).

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations.

  • Relevant training (Team Teach, MAPA, or similar) is desirable but not essential.
