About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding SEN school in Dudley. The school caters to pupils aged 4-19 with severe and profound learning difficulties, including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions and complex medical needs.The school’s innovative curriculum focuses on five key areas: Communication, Thinking, Well-being, Body, and World. Each pupil’s unique needs are met through a personalised approach guided by their Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). The school also prioritises practical, hands-on learning, often engaging with the local community to enrich students’ skills and experiences.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support for SEN pupils, working 1:1 and with small groups.
- Help students overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence.
- Assist with general classroom tasks and behaviour management.
- Use effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
- Motivate and inspire students to actively engage in their education.
- Must have an enhanced child and adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with SEN children in a school or similar setting (preferred).
- Confidence in working with vulnerable individuals on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to learning and behaviour support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
