Teaching Personnel is actively recruiting enthusiastic and caring Graduate Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in Birmingham, supporting students with additional learning needs.

About the Role:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll support students both one-on-one and in small groups—helping them engage with learning, develop key life skills, and build their confidence. You’ll be an essential part of the classroom team, contributing to a positive, encouraging school culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored support to students with special educational needs

• Assisting teachers with lesson planning and classroom activities

• Promoting inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour

• Creating a safe, nurturing space where students can thrive

 Who We’re Looking For:

We welcome graduates from all backgrounds, especially those with degrees in:

• Psychology

• Sociology

• Education

• Sports Science

• Childhood Studies

• Social Work

• Special Educational Needs and Inclusion

• Or any subject with experience or interest in working with children or young people

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have a caring, patient, and resilient nature

• Are a strong communicator and team player

• Are eager to gain classroom experience before training as a teacher, psychologist, or youth worker

• Are committed to helping every child succeed—no matter the challenges

 Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK

• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

• Previous experience working with children (paid or voluntary) is beneficial but not essential
