Special Needs Teaching Assistant

I am currently working closely with two schools in Ashford/Canterbury location that are looking for Teaching Assistants for both long-term positions and short-term supply.

My first client is a large SEMH school looking for behavioural support specialists for long-term contracts and permanent positions. You will be working in small classes of approximately 5 to 7 pupils in key stages 3 and 4. In addition to group work you will also be required to provide support on an individual 1:1 basis. Due to the nature of the school lots of the students are from a care background and need someone who is going to show a lot of enthusiasm and are willing to get involved as part of a team.

My second client is also an SEMH school providing education to pupils across both primary and secondary year groups from key stage 2 up to key stage 4. The school are looking for behavioural support specialists for both long-term and short-term positions. Due to the fact you will be covering across all key stages you will need to have the flexible and adaptable working ethos required to support all year groups.

If you have experience or feel confident in at least 2 of the following please get in touch:

  • Youth Offending Services
  • Criminology, Psychology, Music Degree
  • Sports coaching qualification or background
  • Team Teach/SKIP, CPI, MAPA Physical Intervention Training
  • Experience supporting challenging behaviour within an out of school setting
  • Emotionally Robust

Positon details:

  • Full-Time Role 08:30am - 15:30pm (For Part-Time and Supply please see below)
  • SEN Teaching Assistant (long-term contract)
  • Ages 4 - 19
  • SEN - Social, Emotional, Mental Health
  • Daily rate from £57 - 65 (depending on experience)
  • Opportunity to apply for a permanent contract

All Candidates Must:

  • Be able to commit to working the hours specified above
  • Provide a child only workforce DBS on the update service or willing to pay for a new child only DBS (£44) and then subscribe to the update service (£13)
  • Have no recent criminal convictions/cautions.
  • Have a full original birth certificate, full driving licence and/or valid passport.
  • If you have been a resident for less than 5 years in the UK a right to work visa (non-EU) and a criminal background check from any country resided in for 6 months or more with in the past 5 years must be provided.
