Primary and secondary provision - complex physical and medical needs

An Ofsted 'OUTSTANDING' SEN school in West Didsbury, South Manchester are looking for a Teacher to be responsible for the learning and development of a KS3/KS4 class of young people who have complex needs within their school on a long term basis.

This school is a 98 place school that supports pupils with complex medical, communication and physical needs. Some children also have social and emotional needs that can result in challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils aged 4 - 16 throughout 10 mixed ability classes. Pupil's communication needs result in alternative methods of communication being used around school, such as iPads, PECs, Braille and BSL. Promoting independence is a main focus within this 'Outstanding' school therefore staff that share this passion is essential.

The successful teacher will need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt to both KS3 and KS4 learning. Differentiation is key as the pupils have a range of abilities.

To be considered for this role, you must -

* be a fully or newly qualified teacher

* have some experience teaching/supporting children with special needs

* have the ability to differentiate lessons

A small number of pupils within this school also use BSL as their first language therefore Teachers with BSL training are highly sought after.

The school are looking for a teacher to start as soon as possible and will continue on a temporary basis with a high potential of becoming permanent for the right person.
